Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Essential: A First-Class Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology in the relevant discipline from a recognized university or equivalent institution. The degree certificate must be available at the time of application.
  • If a university does not specify ‘First Class,’ a minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale, if no conversion formula is provided) will be considered equivalent.
  • Desirable (Project Scientist ‘B’): Master’s Degree/Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, a valid GATE score, and up to three years of experience in specified areas.
  • Desirable (Project Scientist ‘C’): Master’s Degree/Ph.D. in a relevant discipline.

Age Limit (as of April 21, 2025):

  • Project Scientist ‘B’: Maximum age of 35 years.
  • Project Scientist ‘C’: Maximum age of 40 years.
  • Relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and up to 10 years for PwBD candidates. Additional relaxations apply for ex-servicemen and certain government employees as per rules, with an overall maximum age limit of 56 years, including relaxations.

Salary & Benefits

Consolidated Monthly Emoluments:

  • Project Scientist ‘B’: ₹90,789/- per month
  • Project Scientist ‘C’: ₹1,08,073/- per month
  • Annual Increment: 7% on consolidated pay after one year

Additional Benefits:

  • Gratuity: Payable as per the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972 (minimum five years of service required).
  • Travel Allowance: TA/DA applicable for official tours.
  • Group Insurance: Enrollment in Group Insurance Scheme (OYRGTA of LIC) with salary deductions.
  • Leave Entitlement: 30 days of Annual Leave and 10 days of Casual Leave per year (pro-rata basis), along with maternity leave as per regulations.
  • Medical Insurance: Candidates and their dependents must enroll in a Group Medical Insurance Scheme (minimum annual premium ₹15,000).

Note: No Dearness Allowance, government accommodation, or other allowances applicable to regular employees.

Selection Process

  1. Administrative Screening: Verification of identity, age, educational qualifications, and experience based on the online application.
  2. Technical Screening: Evaluation of suitability based on experience.
  3. Shortlisting for Preliminary Online Interview: Candidates will be shortlisted based on qualifications, relevant experience, desirable criteria, and the decision of the Technical Screening Committee.
  4. Preliminary Online Interview: Conducted to further shortlist candidates.
  5. Final Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will appear for a final personal interview. Selection is purely based on merit, with minimum qualifying marks of 70% for unreserved candidates and 60% for reserved categories.
  6. Document Verification: Original documents must be verified before the final selection.
  7. Medical Examination: Candidates must undergo a medical examination before receiving the appointment offer.
